I should first clarify that the group isn't exclusive to gram weenies, gram counters or "stupid light" hikers, and I say all of those being one myself, especially those moments when cutting toothbrushes in half or counting ibuprofen or bandaids to make certain I am not carrrying too many. It is open to one and all who want to get to the backcountry. My inclination and desire is for trips of varying distances, and in some cases, a lighter backpack will allow for easier miles and more off trai …

There are several excellent ski and snowboard groups - but none that are focused on Squaw Valley, village nightlife, the endless possibilities to have fun with folks outside your ski lease, to ski and snowboard with people of your level - and in the summer months to bike, hike, or play just for the heck of it. That's the intent of this group. To meet people who live in SF and play at Squaw any time of the year.

We're SUN. We're single. We stay single because we like it, but we're not obviously weird. We hang out -- get drinks, go to clubs, play cards, race shopping carts (http://youtu.be/FMrIy9zm7QY), and chat. A lot. We're unprofessionals, and we contemn "networking." We talk to people because we like them, not because they'll get us where we want to go.
